I had a fabulous pottery teacher, she gave me space to create pottery that was unconventional. The pots were creating me to stay in the moment and to expect nothing allowing the shape to take form. Each week was a new experience of inner and outer growth. One student said to me that I was in the "zone" when creating a pot. There is a technique in creating a pinch pot, shaping the clay into a ball and inserting your thumb into the center of the ball of clay, then forming the ridge of the bowl with the other fingers. The first time in making a pinch pot I had the support of my teacher, as I proceeded to place my thumb into the center of the clay ball I began to cry, it felt like I was touching the core of my essence. Both my teacher and I were in awe of the beauty of the moment of my life of discovery.
